Privacy Policy

AppAutopsy is operated by Vibe Software LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following information when you use AppAutopsy:

  • Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, Google account ID, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
  • Payment information. All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. We retain Stripe customer and payment IDs to associate purchases with your account.
  • Service usage. We store the App Store URLs you submit, the resulting analyses, your credit balance, and an audit log of credit transactions.
  • Session data. We set an authentication cookie so you stay logged in. We may also store a small client-side preference (e.g., dark mode) in your browser.
  • Technical logs. Our servers may log standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and debugging purposes.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To deliver the analyses you request and save them to your library.
  • To process payments and grant credits.
  • To send transactional communications (purchase receipts, important service notices).
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and ensure the integrity of the service.
  • To improve AppAutopsy based on aggregate usage patterns.

3. Third-party services

To deliver our service, we share limited information with the following providers:

  • Google OAuth — for authentication. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe — for payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Anthropic — we send the public App Store reviews you ask us to analyze to Anthropic's API to generate the analysis. We do not send your account identity to Anthropic.
  • Sensor Tower — we query publicly available app metadata (downloads, ratings, etc.) for the apps you analyze.
  • Apple iTunes — we fetch public app review data from Apple's RSS feed.

4. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. Reports you generate are stored until you delete them or close your account. Credit transaction history is retained for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.

5. Your rights

You may at any time:

  • Access and download the data we hold about you.
  • Request that we delete your account and associated data (unused credits may be refundable per our Refund Policy).
  • Revoke AppAutopsy's access to your Google account at any time via your Google permissions page.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies: an authentication token cookie (HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax) that keeps you logged in, and a browser local-storage entry for your theme preference. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including HTTPS in transit, prepared statements against SQL injection, signed short-lived tokens for sensitive operations, and ownership checks on every report access. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique Google account password and enable two-factor authentication on it.

8. Children

AppAutopsy is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice.
